Eva Schloss's life story is one of unimaginable horror, resilience, and triumph. Born in Vienna in 1929, she was just fifteen years old when she was sent to Auschwitz concentration camp. There, she witnessed unspeakable atrocities and lost her father and brother. But even in the darkest of times, she never gave up hope.

After the war, Eva and her mother moved to London, where they struggled to rebuild their lives. Eva eventually married Zvi Schloss, a fellow Holocaust survivor, and they had three children. In 1953, the family moved to Ambleside, a small town in the Lake District of England.

Ambleside was a far cry from the horrors of Auschwitz. It was a peaceful and beautiful place, where Eva and her family could finally find some peace. But even though she had escaped the horrors of the Holocaust, Eva never forgot what she had been through.

In 1985, Eva published her memoir, After The War: From Auschwitz To Ambleside Conkers. The book was a critical and commercial success, and it has since been translated into more than twenty languages. In the book, Eva tells the story of her life before, during, and after the Holocaust. She writes about the horrors she witnessed, the losses she suffered, and the resilience she found.

Eva's story is a powerful reminder of the horrors of the Holocaust. But it is also a story of hope and resilience. It is a story that shows us that even in the darkest of times, the human spirit can prevail.
